I love Brit-Pop, especially Blur and Pulp and now Arctic Monkeys. I love the style of lyrics and the way that the singers manage to keep their speaking accent while singing. Well, Damon Albarn didn't do that so much, but if you're British, then its better to sound British when you sing instead of some weird fake American accent (a lot of bands from Wales and London do this for some reason).

Damon Albarn does keep his normal voice, it's just a bit more high pitched and pained.

The most recent Brit-Pop band I've got into are Suede, they are real good. You should check them out, you've probably heard a few of their songs like The Beautiful Ones etc. They are a bit different from the Brit-Pop norm.

I've listend before, although I'm not such a fan because of Brett Anderson. His voice grates and the lyrics of his that I remember struck me as a bit pointless.

His voice isn't the Brit-Pop norm but I still think it's really good, and his lyrics are brilliant. You should listen more.

Those two right there... genius.

A lot of the others are, I think, justly forgotten. Boo Radleys, The Bluetones and Menswear all had a certain lameness to them which is difficult to pinpoint. I think its a lack of flair, creativeness, sparkle, aggression, romance and general groin. Floppy **** seems an appropriate phrase.

You should hear the Boo Radleys Giant Steps album.

A wonderful example of trippy psychadelic rock , much better than the crap they did later that sold by the bucket load.

Brit-Pop is having a nice resurgence as of late. Can anyone tell me the name of the band who sing the songs Hot Summer and She's Attracted To? They seem like a band to look out for.

Also, Milburn seem to be a new band that will take the limelight soon. My girlfriend went to a concert of theirs and said it was the best concert she's been to. It sounds like they had a lot of Brit-Pop bands there and a band that was heavily mentioned was Karma 45 (who I haven't downloaded anything by yet) check them out. Everyone's talking about them at the moment.

The Young Knives. Good choice.

I listened to Milburn a few weeks ago. Really good tunes. The ones I heard seemed to throw in a lot of folky melodies with the rock, of which I wholeheartedly approve.
