Guthrie doesn't get in because no one voted for or against him.

Next possibl inductee was nominated by LesPaul43

Jethro Tull

Jethro Tull is an awesome progressive band from the UK. They were individual and incorporated many things that werent practical in rock music in the late 60s and on. Ian Anderson and his flute are enough to get this band into the hall of fame

Reznorslave 07-23-2006 08:32 AM

disagree

cardboard adolescent 07-23-2006 11:56 AM

disagree

guitar777 07-23-2006 12:40 PM

disagree.

right-track 07-23-2006 12:56 PM

Well! 3 disagreed, all in a row.

Jethro Tull are one of those bands that deserve to be in the Music Hall Of Fame.
But seeing as this is the MusicBanter Hall Of Fame and meant to represent members choices, it doesn't surprise me they are recieving little support here.
Which explains why The Fall Of Troy succeed where Jethro Tull will probably fail.

In my opinion...a definate yes.
A wonderful band with a diverse musical range.

I voted no just because they beat Metallica for best metal album at the Grammys that one time.

tdoc210 07-23-2006 03:33 PM

FUCK you guys.*

Agree

* Right-Track is exempt :)

sleepy jack 07-23-2006 06:07 PM

Agreed

boo boo 07-23-2006 07:38 PM

Agree.

If Tull don't get in, this thread officially sucks ass.

mosesandtherubberducky 07-23-2006 07:41 PM

Agree,

Don't like them much but they diserve it.

TrampInaTux 07-24-2006 02:06 AM

Jethro Tull gets in.

Next possible inductee was nominated by guitar777

Professor Longhair

I'm recommending Professor Longhair up for nomination for the Hall of Fame, because he was one of the founding fathers of the New Orleans style of piano. Also i'm recommending him up for nomination because he was just an all around amazing pianist.

guitar777 07-24-2006 02:33 AM

Am I allowed to agree on this one?

TrampInaTux 07-24-2006 02:35 AM

Nope, you can't agree on someone you have nominated.

Okay.

TrampInaTux 07-24-2006 03:55 AM

I'm going to be an arse and end this nomination early, because I don't think anyone will vote and I want the MB hall of fame to get some interest again.

So, next possible inductee is nominated by....ME!

Muse

Muse have divided opinions everywhere, some loving them and some hating them. But for those who love them (myself included) there is so much there to love. Each album epic, overblown and brilliant, they have managed to go against the grain of music lore and release a fantastic album every time. With Black Holes and Revelations looking like it will be one of, if not the, album of the year and Supermassive Black Hole being their highest positioning single to date, Muse are yet again setting the standards for what a supergroup should be.

Merkaba 07-24-2006 04:38 AM

Disagree

Actually I take that back, I'm neutral.

Urban Hat€monger ? 07-24-2006 11:02 AM

AHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHA

No F*cking way

DontRunMeOver 07-24-2006 11:10 AM

Agree, because they are in my personal hall of fame (its actually a cupboard).

Muse are consistenly bringing out music which seems to pour a bucketload of craziness and nervous tension into short songs with energetic guitar lines and great musicianship. I absolutely love them. They've already inspired the formation of tons of new bands, although these bands are usually rubbish because of the skill required to play decent Muse-style music. To my ears, they sound completely original and even in 50 years its likely that you'll still be able to recognise Muse music from all other bands before and since, because it defies copyists.

In terms of live performance, Muse make most other bands seem like a joke.

TrampInaTux 07-24-2006 12:49 PM

Anyone remember when they headlined Glastonbury and everybody laughed? And then they stole the show? Yeah, that's why they should make it into the Hall of Fame. So, we have one yes and one no. Can we please have more yes'!

cardboard adolescent 07-24-2006 01:03 PM

Yes

Just kidding. No.

Laces Out Dan! 07-24-2006 02:02 PM

Yes!

Decoy 07-24-2006 04:30 PM

so now hobojesus is doing it?

right-track 07-24-2006 04:36 PM

Yes...on account of bill being banished from MB, to drift aimlessly in MySpace, for all eternity.
Which is a very, very long time. :(

Decoy 07-24-2006 04:54 PM

word? what happened to him?

I love Muse to bits, but dont think they're quite on par with anyone else on the hall of fame. Someone nominate Maynard James Keenan

TrampInaTux 07-25-2006 03:35 AM

Muse don't get in :(

Next possible inductee was nominated by ZeppelinAir.

Led Zeppelin

what about led zeppelin,
they where voted on vh1's 100 greatest bands of hard rock, they where 1#, Stairway To Heaven is considered one of the greatest songs ever writen, Robert Plant is one of the greatest voices of all time,
Jimmy Page is a great guitar player and a lyrical master, so in my opinion Led Zeppelin should be in.

Merkaba 07-25-2006 03:54 AM

Agree

boo boo 07-25-2006 05:19 AM

Oh god, this was going to happen eventually.... I agree.

However, i know for a fact that they won't get in with all the Zep haters.

I mean, there's no reason to induct them, they were not a talented or important band, they have no real influence or impact on rock history whatsoever, after all, that's what it takes for an artist to get inducted, with Joshua Holme and The Fall Of Troy and all.

Decoy 07-25-2006 08:50 AM

diasgree

mosesandtherubberducky 07-25-2006 12:09 PM

agree

they did a lot for their time even if i don't like them

Rabid Sea Turtles 07-25-2006 12:14 PM

Disagree

Raine 07-25-2006 12:16 PM

Whole heartedly disagree.

The Ten Thousandth Fist 07-25-2006 12:46 PM

I'm on the fence on this one for the moment.

Laces Out Dan! 07-25-2006 01:26 PM
