The Smiths were one of the most influential band of the 80's. Through Morrisey's witty and sarcatic lyrics and Johhny Marrs guitarwork, the Smiths influenced a variety of english bands to follow, and are sometimes accredited with kicking off the Brit Pop movement. Oh, and aside from influence, they are extremely good.

A ****y and intimidating prescence, Damon doesn't take bull**** from anyone, whether you're an interviewer, a critic, a fan or a fellow bandmate. Yes, he's a twat, but a rather brilliant one at that.

Coxon was part of the talent, but creating the Gorillaz, one of the most original and unique bands to grace the Earth, also warrants him getting a place in the Hall of Fame I think.

The most influential man in American [I'd say all but maybe that's stretching it] folk ever. Without him there's no Pete Seeger or Bob Dylan. He set standards that are still in place today. He wrote hundreds of wonderful songs and pioneered in the way he wrote lyrics.
