Although im not a huge fan of all of his music he does deserve to go in, just because of his popularity, and his iconic status
EDIT: Agree...btw |
Yeah, put him in.
|
Bob Marley is in.
Next possible inductee nominated by Bungalowbill357. The Smiths The Smiths were one of the most influential band of the 80's. Through Morrisey's witty and sarcatic lyrics and Johhny Marrs guitarwork, the Smiths influenced a variety of english bands to follow, and are sometimes accredited with kicking off the Brit Pop movement. Oh, and aside from influence, they are extremely good. |
Double posting to say I agree.
|
I'll agree on the smiths.
|
Smiths = Agree.
|
Most definitely agree.
|
Massive band.
Influential, original and well worthy of a place. One of those bands people are still discovering today...a sure sign of greatness. Agree. |

The Smiths are in the MB hall of fame.
Next nomination was nominated by....me! Cos there are no PMs left, and the ones that I have got have all been sent without arguments (I'm looking at you DOC) Damon Albarn Former frontman of Blur and current genius behind Gorillaz, Albarn has had a lengthy and varied career spanning break ups, fallouts, controversy and awards. A ****y and intimidating prescence, Damon doesn't take bull**** from anyone, whether you're an interviewer, a critic, a fan or a fellow bandmate. Yes, he's a twat, but a rather brilliant one at that. |

No
Everybody knows Graham Coxon was the talent in Blur :D |

Coxon was part of the talent, but creating the Gorillaz, one of the most original and unique bands to grace the Earth, also warrants him getting a place in the Hall of Fame I think.
|
I say no as well
|
I don`t see much hope for him when even people who love Blur & Gorillaz are saying no
|
It's cos he's a twat :(

He's still brilliant though, just very c ocky.

Agree. Yea he's a twat but he still makes good music.
|
Thank God! Can more people agree here.... I think that you should all agree as a favour to me, I made this thread after all :)

Damon Albarn doesn't get into the MB hall of fame :(
Next possible inductee was nominated by Urban Hatemonger. Steve Albini One of the most respected producers in the world and also one of the harshest critics of the music industry as well as being a respected musician in his own right. Albini estimates that he has engineered the recording of over 1,000 albums. Bands that Albini has worked with include Pixies, Nirvana, PJ Harvey, Low, Mogwai, Bush, Godspeed You Black Emperor!, Mclusky, The Auteurs, Mono , The Jesus Lizard, The Breeders, Fugazi, F-Minus, Slint , The Wedding Present and Zao (Yes, I copied that from wiki). Now if that list alone doesn`t get him in I don`t know what will. |
Agree

Bill do a piece on The Smiths in your thread...they have now been inducted.

Agreed on Albini.

Steve Albini gets in.
The next possible inductee was nominated by swimintheundertow Woody Guthrie The most influential man in American [I'd say all but maybe that's stretching it] folk ever. Without him there's no Pete Seeger or Bob Dylan. He set standards that are still in place today. He wrote hundreds of wonderful songs and pioneered in the way he wrote lyrics. |
