Disagree aswell.
|
I'm going to disagree, but they have my respect.
|
Disagree as well. It's nothing new or exciting.
And hobo, do one band a day. That way there is adequate time for people to look into the band if neccessary and vote. |
Good idea.
And my mailbox is now empty. |
So Outkast didn't make it:(
This one's been nominated by riseagainstrocks Thrice One of the most influential bands of the past 5 years, Thrice has published 4 records each to critical acclaim. One of the few acts to combine pop rock and metal well, their unique style helped them land several headlining tours and spots on the Warped Tour mainstage. Thrice is composed of Dustin Kensrue, Teppie Teranishi, Riley Breckenridge, and Eddie Breckenridge. |

I think this thread should be about genuine contenders not just peoples favourite bands. |
How many of you have heard more then Artist In The Ambulance?
|
As someone stated earlier, if it was "genuine contenders" than this would simply repeat what every music journal ever has said.
And Thrice isn't my favorite band. I just find them them to be a very original band. If they don't make it whatever, but I would think the point of this thread would be to identify what the taste of MB as a whole are. |
Just because they`re genuine contenders doesn`t mean they are going to get in.
I just think the names listed here should be great , original , influencial and actually made a difference , that doesn`t have to be well known. For example if you were to pick a reggae artist for this the most obvious choice would be Bob Marley , but on the other hand if it wasn`t for the likes of people like Lee Perry and what he put into place , Bob Marley probably wouldn`t be anywhere near as successful as he was. And yet i`ve hardly ever seen Lee Perry even mentioned on this forum even though the guy was considered a genius in his field. |
disagree with thrice
|
Thrice don't make it into the Hall of Fame.
And it's useless arguing over who gets nominated. If you don't like who's being nominated then nominate someone yourself-simple as. Also, someone said that it should reflect MB's taste in music, and that we shouldn't just pick out the top contenders. Well I find that to be a bit stupid, because if the people of MB are picking these top contenders then they do deserve to be in the Hall of Fame because they are MB's taste in music. Radiohead were perceived as top contenders yet they got some disagreements. You can't just fill the Hall of Fame with obscure bands and you can't just fill it with mainstream bands. The obvious people will get in the HOF, yes, but as long as they reflect the music tastes of this site (which is what this thread is about) then they deserve it. Anyway, a nomination from bungalowbill357 Immortal Technique One of the most socially active and greatest rappers on the scene, Immortal Technique has released two thoroughly great albums that shine not only because of his amazing ability as a rapper, but his politically and socially conscious lyrics which have given a voice to those who remain otherwise unheard. |
AGREEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
Technique OWNS. Listen to him now! |
Disagree
|
You're fat anway.
|
I disagree simply because Nas should be inducted into the hall of fame sooner than technique.
|
Hell no, Nas is trying to be some kind od gangsta rapper now, it's pathetic.
|
You can't disagree because of that really...
You've gotta have a proper reason. I would bet that you haven't heard anything by Immortal Technique. |

Agreed

I'm going to allow myself to vote now, seen as I'm not nominating these people myself. Bill your vote doesn't count by the way, seen as you nominated him.
I agree. Great wordsmith and political views (even though I'm not big on political music) a breath of fresh air into the rap game really. |
I guess thats fair.

My favorite song by him is Point of No Return. And I'll only agree to have him inducted into the Hall of fame if Nas gets to be inducted as well. Although at the rate this is going, Technique may be inducted with or without my vote no matter what I think. All's fair in democracy. Supposedly :) |
Agree.
And, Raine, that's bullshit reason for someone not getting in. |
OutKast first one I actaully agree on

I disagree with his political views, but at least he's doing something about what he believes. Besides, his non-political songs are THE BALLS |
I agree. Disagreeing would be hurtful and mean to Bungalow.
