I wanted to tear my teeth out. I didn't know what I wanted to do. And I want to remember it. I never want to forget it. I never want to forget. And then I realized... like I was shot... like I was shot with a diamond... a diamond bullet right through my forehead. And I thought: My God... the genius of that.

The Mars Volta are in.

Next nomination is from Crowquill.

The Fall Of Troy

Progressive post-hardcore trio the fall of troy (originally the thirty year war) are bringing in a new wave of post-hardcore by combining the sounds of At-The Drive In, and Rush with an obvious influence from the local spazzy washington sound.

Their sound is characterized by thoms technical guitar skill, his use of multiple pedals and effects, and his vocals with go from clean singing (with an influence from Geddy that can be seen, but not so influenced that it sounds copied.) to harsh screaming, which is alternated between Thom and Tim.

Only 21, and they've got 2 full length albums, an EP, and an upcoming album due in late 2006 and another in late 2007, which thom describes as "one song seperated by tracks" and (pretty much single-handely) influenced bands such as, The Sound Of Silence and The Jonbenet.
