Going against the grain here, but i think hall of fames are a waste of time, too many damn arguments about what kind of bands should and shouldn't be inducted... And certain genres are always ignored, which is a subtle way of saying the music you listen to is superior to everything else, it's all biased rubbish, that's why i dispise the R&R hall of fame, for all the bands that deserved to be inducted but never made it in, and all the ones that got in simply for being a favorite of the board members rather than their actual contribution to music history... Tom Petty, you know who you are.
Sure this is meant to be an alternative to that, but i think at the rate things are going, it wont be any different, because the whole process of picking "elite" bands is dumb to begin with. Which brings up a new question, why did i bother to make this post?... Because i'm bored and have way too much free time on my hands. |

Offspring aren't in. And here's the next induction, thanks to Merkaba.
Joshua Homme founding member of the legendary Kyuss. Now a key member of QOTSA. Drummed for the Eagles of Death Metal and the improv Desert Sessions. Did bass for almost the whole of QOTSA debut album. Played lead guitar for the Screaming Trees and some other work with Mark Lanegan, also was guitarist for Kyuss. Innovated playing electric guitars through a bass amp. Has contributed to a crap load of artists such as the Foo Fighters, PJ Harvey, Mondo Generator, APC and approximately a kajillion other artists. |
