It was a good pop album.
I probably wouldn't listen to it now but it filled a gap at the time.

Which is what pop music should be.

jackhammer 02-29-2008 04:52 PM

I know nothing about the composition of music. I just have an ear for what I think works or does'nt. Don't knock yourself for lack of knowledge. Gut instinct is one of the most powerful tools in music.

CutiePants 02-29-2008 05:01 PM

:) i just like having a forum to talk about music and a pretty open one at that. i like music a lot more than people that are currently in my life. i can't talk to them about anything unless it's about really commercial stuff, which is fine, i like a lot of that but for instance I can't stand Audioslave, lots of the peeps around me do, they don't even know why really. i tell them it's because it's what they are supossed to like LOL they think it's credible because it's people from different successful bands, chris cornell is a good singer etc., etc. IDK but I just can't stand it. OMG and these are the same people that love Jimmy Buffett and Toby Keith, I swear sometimes at parties I wanna hurl. LMAO! Would you believe I get MADE FUN OF for loving Bjork so much! Oye Vey!

jackhammer 02-29-2008 05:07 PM

Do you know what I did when I was young? I just nodded when some people mentioned flavour of the month musically. I felt no need to let them ridicule my tastes. I just kept them to myself. When I was comfortable about who I liked and felt that I could explain my choices properly I proceeded to go to a web forum and lay myself emotionally bare. Unfortunately this took many years and technology has moved on and my recommendations are not cool lol.

It's not a definition, it's a label and it's (purposefully) misplaced (one wonders why ). This is r'n'b, soul, hip-hop, dance, but it sure as fuck ain't pop. Get your genres straight buddy.http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/c...coffee26at.gif

aren't genres a way of labeling things? what is it if it's not pop? maybe southern hip-hop? but then that lumps it into the same "genre" as Trick Daddy, Lil' Jon, Paul Wall, Mike Jones and the like. I'd rather be pop than in the same genre as those guys...but that's just me.

gnarls barkley

well, Crazeh was a good song. And so was that other one I kept hearing on the radio, smiling or summat. Who can tell meh something 'bout the album?

Well, it'll probably be released on a 1.2mm thick piece of polycarbonate plastic measuring 120mm in diameter and (unless it's released in a novelty shape, which is unlikely) weighing approximately 16 grams, containing music digitally stored on a series of tiny indentations (pits), encoded in a tightly packed spiral track molded into the top of the above mentioned polycarbonate layer, that will no doubt be of inferior musical quality to the previous album 'St. Elsewhere'.

jackhammer 03-01-2008 01:46 PM

It might be released on Vinyl though too. Over to our design and technology guru Right track to explain the material composition of vinyl...

BTW It could be better than St.Elsewhere. The single certainly sounds on the money.

Rainard Jalen 03-01-2008 01:49 PM

Eh but what about St Elsewhere? I haven't even heard that. Verdicts? Good album? Trash? Bolleaux?

Easily my favorite album of 2006, and one of the best of the decade. Love it or die. :|

Dmizz 03-01-2008 05:23 PM

Yeah, that plan sure did backfire didn't it...

djchameleon 03-02-2008 06:07 AM

I figured I'd post this here......one thing I didn't like was the background I felt like they were biting too much off of the crazy video with it but overall it was decent and I just noticed that justin timberlake is in the video

adidasss 03-02-2008 06:18 AM

Justin is the blackest cracker ever..sigh...someone please assassinate him...

OT: I like the song, I love Cee-lo's voice so he could be singing any old tune and I'd still dig it, but I also hope it gets better than this.:|

it probably will get better than this....I always buy albums instead of just relying on the singles because sometimes I think they don't pick just the right songs for singles imo anyways.

Right on. As an example. They picked my least favorite song to be the single for the Ghostland Observatory album that came out this week.
