It was a good pop album.
I probably wouldn't listen to it now but it filled a gap at the time.

Which is what pop music should be.

I know nothing about the composition of music. I just have an ear for what I think works or does'nt. Don't knock yourself for lack of knowledge. Gut instinct is one of the most powerful tools in music.

i just like having a forum to talk about music and a pretty open one at that. i like music a lot more than people that are currently in my life. i can't talk to them about anything unless it's about really commercial stuff, which is fine, i like a lot of that but for instance I can't stand Audioslave, lots of the peeps around me do, they don't even know why really. i tell them it's because it's what they are supossed to like LOL they think it's credible because it's people from different successful bands, chris cornell is a good singer etc., etc. IDK but I just can't stand it. OMG and these are the same people that love Jimmy Buffett and Toby Keith, I swear sometimes at parties I wanna hurl. LMAO! Would you believe I get MADE FUN OF for loving Bjork so much! Oye Vey!

Do you know what I did when I was young? I just nodded when some people mentioned flavour of the month musically. I felt no need to let them ridicule my tastes. I just kept them to myself. When I was comfortable about who I liked and felt that I could explain my choices properly I proceeded to go to a web forum and lay myself emotionally bare. Unfortunately this took many years and technology has moved on and my recommendations are not cool lol.

It's not a definition, it's a label and it's (purposefully) misplaced (one wonders why ). This is r'n'b, soul, hip-hop, dance, but it sure as fuck ain't pop. Get your genres straight buddy.
