help a brotha out
ok, so my brother asked me to burn him some music, he's got this kid business going on this summer, some jumping bullshit, and of course he needs some dance/pop music ( to please and entertain the kiddies ) and since i'm not big on the modern pop/hip hop production, i was hoping you guys could help me out, just name any song that has a good beat, from britney and destinys child, to any sort of rap/hip hop, anything that comes to mind and you think the kids might like...
|
You gotta put some Daft Punk on there

Scratch the New Order song & put on that version of Kylie Minogues Can`t Get You Out Of My Head thats been remixed with Blue Monday.

|
Daft Punk is where it's at.
If your brother likes 80s new wave/dance pop stuff... I'd recomend Talking Heads, Joy Division, The Police, Gang Of Four, New Order, Prince, Peter Gabriel, hell even some 80s King Crimson. For hip hop.... Public Enemy, Dr. Dre, Nortorious B.I.G., Beastie Boys and A Tribe Called Quest, if he hasn't heard them already... At least it should expand his tastes beyond the typical rubbish that passes as hop hop today, also Danger Doom's The Mouse And The Mask is great fun. But for good ol' pop, Thriller... Anyone who says they don't like that album is a liar. |

50 cent - get rich or die trying beck - guerro, odelay gnarls barkley - st.elsewhere black eyed peas - elephunk, monkey business ( damn, i had no idea monkey business was such a fun album...i'm buying it ) rihanna - a girl like me ( i bet you didn't see that one coming, it's actually a pretty good album, a couple of slow boring songs, but i'm gonna cut them out ) madonna - confessions on a dance floor gorillaz - demon days ( i'm not sure about this one, it doesn't have a fast enough beat...:-/) hot chip - the warning? ( whatdya think? a bit too trance-y maybe?) the chemical brothers - push the button perhapse ( i still gotta listen through them better ): jamelia - thank you ( who remembers this bitch aye? ) infadels - we are not the infadels jamie lidel - multiply kanye west - college dropout royksopp - melody a.m. soulwax - any minute now tiga - sexor white rose movement - kick don't think i'm gonna let you off the hook so easy....i'm gonna keep bumping this thread till you give me some good suggestions... btw, anyone have any info on what daft punk album is best to download? |

Daft Punk is good.
but trade Britney Spears - Toxic for Local H - Toxic (A cover of the Britney Spears song) Story of the Year and some techno Amber Sonique the Thong Song by Sisco . . . 112 - Peaches and Cream some DMX - What You Want From Me (or whatever that song is called) Nappy Roots P.O.D. kids always go crazy over Linkin Park and maybe some Fuel. Their song Shimmer would be good. Christina Aguilera's Dirty or Genie Mandy Moore - I Wanna Be With You is the perfect slow song if you need one to kinda calm the crowd down or something. Everlong or Low by the Foo Fighters Social Distortion and Rancid would be nice too. . . Maybe some R.E.M. Just about anything by Blink 182, specifically Rock Show and Small Things should do the trick. and most people love Puff Daddy. any of his old stuff. . . and Pink. . . anything for her first album . . . Ex-Girlfriend and Just a Girl by No Doubt Saboage or Intergalatic by the Beastie Boys that's all I could think of . . . I hope things work out for your brother Peace |
bump....

Ok, it's that time of the year again. Let's do better this time folks. Anyone with a minimum of pop sensitivity (meaning you know how to tell a good pop album from a bland one and aren't afraid to listen to mainstream) recommend some good pop/dance albums from the past year (emphasis on ALBUMS, can't be bothered to download singular tracks).
I'm looking at Billboard and so far I'm gonna download the new album from Rihanna. Are the albums from R Kelly or Maroon 5 any good (and by that I mean, will 10 year old kids and retarded housewives enjoy it)? Again, I have to repeat that if it was up to me I would play Of Montreal, LCD Soundsystem, Bloc Party, Spoon and the like, tried it last year and it didn't go over very well....>.> P.s.: I will keep bumping this thread until someone helps me out so save yourselves some annoyance and make some suggestions. Edit: So far I've got: 1. Rihanna - Good girl gone bad 2. Nelly Furtado - Loose 3. Nelly Furtado - Best of the remixes 3. Lilly Allen - Alright still... 4. Justin Timberlake - Futuresex lovesounds 5. Beyonce - Bday 6. Gwen Stefani - The sweet escape 7. Pink - I'm not dead I think that covers all the heavyweights. But I need more. |
Your brother's job sounds like it sucks
|
Doesn't every job?;)
OT: This is making me very nervous...I hate being made to guess other people's taste...especially after last year when the ingrates complained if a single song (and I think I gave them a few hundred) was a bit "slower" than they'd like it to be...I can't tell you how annoying it is when people complain about my music choices...(plus, listening to whiny bitches that pass as pop is seriously affecting my mental health, what the fuck happened to Nelly Furtado!?!?). HELP ME PEOPLE!!! SINGLES, ALBUMS, REMIXES, ANYTHING!! |
You gotta get some Justice. Album called †
If you didn't get Daft Punk last time, put Discovery (the album) on. |
