Immanu El, They'll come, they come. Courtesy of jackhammer I've only just started listening to it, and am still on the first track, but I think I'm going to love this album a lot. So far what I'm hearing is quite beautiful. Definitely a very Sigur Ros-type feel to it. |

Came today:
Chick Corea & Gary Burton - The New Crystal Silence Double CD of a Duet. Corea on piano, and Burton on the vibraphone. The 1st CD of the 2 had the Sydney Symphony accompanying them. I'm really likin' this . I need more Vibraphone in my life. |

Emma Myldenberger - Tour de Trance (1979) Vaguely unsettling folk from late 70's Germany, both mesmerizing and intriguing in its primeval grasp on rhythm. Burial - Untrue (2007) Quite a trip this, and most certainly deserving of all the critical appraise its amassed over the last few years. Kinda makes me wish I had snapped it up earlier though. Os Mutantes - o "A" e o "Z" (1973) Contrary to common knowledge, Brazil's favorite psychedelic/Tropicalia sons Os Mutantes stepped up later in the 70's to become the nation's best progressive rock band, blending catchy harmonic vocals a la' Yes/The Beach Boys with guitar-driven explosions and some killer keyboard/bass work, often with fantastic results when the elements all came crashing down together like on this album. Encantada mucho!

Three of my most frequently replaced albums:
The Allman Brothers Band - At Fillmore East The Beastie Boys - Check Your Head The Beastie Boys - Paul's Boutique (20th Anniversary Edition - Digitally remastered) One of the downsides of one of my favorite albums of all time is that the sound quality was never as good as it could be. For this year's 20th anniversary of the album's release they decided to completely remaster the album in 5.1 surround, and unlike many digital remasters of albums that I've heard, the improvement in sound quality and overall production is dramatically noticeable. Any fans of this album who want a high quality link give me a nod. |

--------- Very much digging the "Bush of Ghosts" album. Those shreds of Lebanese traditional 'zajal' and 'mouwal' did take me by surprise near the end, working very well with th whole experimental percussive ambiance.
