North Mississippi Allstars - Hernando
Saw this for pretty cheap as I was Christmas shopping today and picked it up. Just really good Blues/Rock. I'd heard a few of these songs before on the Sirius blues channel... Amazon describes it pretty well: "Combine the fatback guitar tone of Eric Clapton during his Cream days with the slap-back rhythms of the delta, and you’ve got the spontaneous combustion that fires through the best of Hernando." |

Not many bands can reach that Hawkwind vibe without resorting to caricature but this is truly great. Middle track 'The Night' is 16 minutes of Psychedelic bliss.

Industrial art-punk via Los Angeles, supposedly influenced by everything I love (Glenn Branca, PIL, The Pop Group, Suicide, Throbbing Gristle) and a contemporary to Blixa Bargeld's musical retinue (aka Einsturzende Neubauten). Consider my interest tickled.

I never got Ceremonial, I got the one they did after that.
I don't think I liked it as much as the debut.
