Well Maynard himself described the first album from Puscifer, V is for Vagina, as something like "driving around in your car listening to those old Motown hits, James Brown, and cool R&B stuff". So as you can guess it is completely different from his earlier and more well-known musical projects. It's very experimental, very electronic kind-of sound, some may label it as having elements of trip-hop or post-industrial I guess!
It's pretty much just a musical side project he started working on to have fun and mess around and experiment, as opposed to Tool and APC which were very serious and each record was worked on by band members until they felt that they had reached perfection. I think Puscifer is more of a work-in-progress, experimental kind-of thing for Keenan.
