I'm very picky when it comes to my black metal as I believe a good portion of it is utter shit (although to be fair the same can be said about every band of every genre). OUt of that list I've only heard Gorgoroth and I wasn't really impressed with what I heard. Besides, this is the best black metal album of the year:

Cobalt - Gin

Ohh I shall go and get that now! Yeah I'm quite finicky too.. I liked the older Nargaroth but his stuff is so polished now. He lost his raw sound which is a big disappointment. Furia encapsulate all kinds of black metal from raw to depressive. Supposedly they tell stories but I wouldn't know as I don't speak Polish. 1349's new one is a huge departure from their old stuff. It was a big surprise.. especially the fact that they did a cover of a Pink Floyd song.

John Frusciante (2004)

In the process of acquiring this... simply because I got 'To Record Only Water For Ten Days' on release in '01, and after being initially confused, returned (with freshly post-punk'd/lo-fi'd ears) to it and continue to do so. It was nothing like RHCP basically, and I hope this album continues that trend or i'll have a BIG temper tantrum. He does a mean falsetto
