I'll second Wax Tailor (his first two...latest one has a lot of vocals), Blue Sky Black Death, DJ Signify. I've heard Meaty Ogre and thought he was ok. Also, Sixtoo as mentioned in the trip-hop thread, Odd Nosdam (I love No More Wig for Ohio), Prefuse 73, etc.

I bought these five yesterday (strange B band theme here):
Behemoth—The Apostasy. This one's just okay, a bit too paint-by-numbers for my tastes but it gets a little more interesting in its second half. Behold... the Arctopus—Skullgrid. I'm undecided on this one. It seems kind of interesting but at the same time it seems just kind of technical for technical's sake. Boris—Smile. Seems pretty good so far, nice and messy sounding which I like. I haven't listened to it all the way through yet though. Continued in next post... |

High on Fire—Death is the Communion. Holy christ is this a good album! Not at all what I was expecting from the guy from Sleep but really, really good. Neurosis—Through Silver in Blood. All I want to know is why on earth did it take me 13 years to get this album, it's fucking fantastic! |
