A Grand Don't Come for Free - The Streets
I already listened to it multiple times off Skinner's MySpace, so I knew what to expect. There are only a few times where I don't listen to a whole album before I buy it.
As for the specific comments in regards to the album, I like it a lot. I'm not really too much of a fan when it comes to UK house/Garage Rap, but I found the lyrics of the album and their delivery to be the key strengths. His lyrics are both relatable and funny. He isn't trying to make himself seem like a deserving star, but rather an ordinary (British) schmoe with ordinary problems and bumbles. Also, I'm always a bit of a sucker for well-executed concept albums. If interested in the album, again, I strongly urge to read the lyrics along with the songs to help open up their greatness. Not to mention, I got it for about $6 off Amazon, new.
