I recently filled out my Locust and Holy Molar collection. I also dowloaded Charles Manson's Lie.

I've got to have the new album by Madonna, it is so goood! Her cover look of heavily made up flapper girl is not disappointing any more than the new songs on her new album.
There is nothing better than a music addict, stay like you are. |

Have you listened to The Bends yet? |

If you get any Anthology make it number 2. Although this track always pissed me off because it would be a perfect premonition of the Smiths if they weren't laughing all over it... |
Wow, you definitely have a point there! I know this song well but given i dont have the Anthology albums i have never heard this version of it and it does have a very Smiths-like vibe to the melody.
If Past Masters has been repackaged as a 2 disc album does that mean its priced as such as well? Or is it still gonna be more expensive? I'm not sure if that would make it the best Beatles record, but maybe it would. Theres at least an argument to be had there. I think Volume 1 is pretty weak in places but Volume 2 is great. |
Rilo Kiley, "Under the Blacklight." I know it came out a couple years ago, but I just got into the band.
My initial review is that it is not a full-on effort by the band. I know they have since split, so I presume this seemingly less-than-superb final album together could be the product of a more loosely knit group. Not to say there aren't any gems. "Silver Lining" is the first track, and for good reason. It sets the album off to a hopping, bouncing start and is addictive, as are several other tracks, although seemingly not as hooking. The title track is solid, and is followed by a catchy, yet elementarily-electronica "Dreamworld." "15" cracks me up though (track 8) and though my girlfriend hates it, I'm fond of "Smoke Detector" too. While musically it's a grin, lyrically it can be a cheesy smile instead of a cunning smirk. I will have to take a good listen to Jenny's solo albums to see what she's capable of on her own. Any suggestions? Any of you have a favorite of her solo albums? |
