Finally got this. I feel a lot of parts could have been done better and most songs weren't near as passionate as I had hoped, but I admire their technicality and songwriting. The theme and concept is very powerful, and is carried out perfectly on Blindfolds Aside (which was the reason I downloaded the album). I get the sense that there's a lot of deeper meanings to the songs beside the perspectives of the execution.

Found these guys randomly (I think Seltzer had something to do with it) and so far they're pretty good. Hard to say what they sound like, it's kind of like Nile with the blend of Middle Eastern style music and gutteral vocals... but not really like Nile at all.
Greatest drum work in all metal.

It really is something else, however I still have to back up my man Gene Hoglan. I mean the dude filled in for Opeth's drummer after only a few hours of practice while chugging down cups of beer. The dude really is something else. Now I'm not belittling the drumming on this album by any means because it is phenomenal but it's definitely no Gene Hoglan.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

Karl Sanders - Saurian Exorcisms

I tell you, 2009 just keeps getting better and better for music. For those of you unaware, Karl Sanders is the vocalist and lead guitarist for Technical Death Metal band Nile.

Indeed I have The Church album's great stuff - not quite up there with Starfish and Priest=Aura for me, but still damn good stuff. Dunno if you're into the Triffids at all, but if you dig the Church I'm pretty sure you'll like them. Just give us a shout if you want any linksies!
