A few tunes I already recognise. I'm a few tracks into it and already it's proving worthwhile. Very techno-ey, ergo cool. If you want it, my brother posted a link to it in my LastFM shoutbox.

- Battles - Mirrored (2007)

- Sergei Prokofiev - Peter and the Wolf (1939, recorded by the Boston Symphony Orchestra)

I'm feeling quite eclectic today.

PMO. Great call on Booker T-seriously underated and Aretha Franklin? Hell yes. My fave of hers.

For me:

It's kinda Krautrock influenced Electronic music. Spacey and cool.

Olafur Arnalds. a kind of minimalist Sigur Ros. Very low key but brilliantly atmospheric.

Only one listen thus far. Patchy. Some really great songs and some utter average pap.

Trumans Water - Godspeed the Punchline

Trumans Water - Spasm Smash XXXOXOX Ox & Ass

sounds like Frank Black fronting some sort of Beefheartian mess, almost no melody to it at all but the convulsive dynamics is enough to keep my ears in it. the Butthole Surfers wish they could have been this good.

^^

F*ck me, It's gotta be at least 15 years since I last saw that band being mentioned by anyone.

I think I heard a couple of songs on a compilation but I don't remember a thing about them

if you can get through a Boredoms or Melt-Banana record you should have no trouble liking it, but it's still a bit cryptic.

there's a Faust cover on the one LP though, seemed pretty unusual.
