Seriously, how do you manage to actually listen to all the music you download? As in, more than just a cursory run through...

but yeah, sometimes it's a bit of a burden to listen to EVERYTHING i get. oh yeah, and i just added two more to the list, haha |
Fair enough
Anyway, just downloaded this. Some pretty good hip hop, not excellent on a first listen though. Karpedium - Building Blocks http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_xKThhJt6G9...ck_ep-2009.jpg |
I've also been on a bit of a download binge this weekend, however the funny part is I've also bought four albums so it kind of evens itself out.
Neutral Milk Hotel - In The Aeroplane Over The Sea I was curious to see what all the fuss over it was about, now I have another reason to ignore the hype. edIT - Crying Over Pros For No Reason Sidewinder sent this to me and holy crap is it ever good and I'm only on the second track! Far more laid back and mellow than Certified Air Raid Material but plenty of well placed glitches, making it extremely hard to guess how the beat's going to go. Opeth - Damnation Sure it's Opeth's mellow album, but it's also their third best in my opinion. I've always wanted to own a physical copy of it and now I do because somebody was silly enough to actually sell it  The Standard - Swimmer I actually got sent this awhile back but never got around to listening to it until yesterday when I downloaded all the things one particular person sent me and well... he's my new go-to guy for indie. The reason why I didn't like The Aeroplane Over The Sea and most indie music in general is it puts me to sleep, I feel like there's something important missing, some liveliness. Everything I got sent by this guy is the exact opposite of what I've just said, it's got that heart to it, it's got that energy and lacks those annoying vocals and predictable guitar riffs. The Murder City Devils - In Name And Blood If I had to choose an album of the week or even album of the month this would definitely be a top competitor. Sent to me by the same person that sent me The Standard this is one of the best rock albums I've heard in a long time. The vocals are powerful without being overly harsh, the content matter is edgy without having to resort to extreme material, and the music is just so brilliantly crafted together. The Joy Formidable - A Balloon Called Moaning This was a pretty nice laid back album, however I was doing some writing while it was playing and cannot remember it too much. However I liked it enough to actually keep it and will probably give it another listen sometime today or tomorrow, the female vocals were very well done. Shearwater - Rook Yet another entry from my indie loving friend on Naruto Forums, this album I found to be a bit of a mixed bag. There were some songs that were very well done and others I felt were a little too long and just seemed to be meandering around the point. I loved the vocals on it though, very unique for the genre, very deep, a nice change of pace. Like A Balloon Called Moaning I was doing some writing at the time and didn't pay as much attention as I should've, but I liked it enough on the initial listen to keep it for later listens. The Grouch & Eligh - Say G&E Haven't been able to listen to this yet because I decided to listen to edIT first, but I really liked the "Artsy" remix that edIT and The Grouch did together so I'm hoping I like this album. Mad Cow Bombers - Mad Cow Bombers Local (to Santa Cruz that is not Reno) hip hop group my mum found at a record store while away this weekend. Full album for five bucks, but I mean c'mon guys... even I can print off a CD label. World Wide Metal A collection of metal artists from all over the world (BUT NOT CANADA  ) |
