I've had these albums on my PC for three years now, but Vertical's post in one of the threads today really struck a chord with me, about support the artists you love. While I've seen Opeth live and got a T-shirt at one of their shows, I've never bought a CD of theirs, I changed that today. As far as Porcupine Tree is concerned I'd give my left nut to see them live, but now I've got an album by them and I'm feeling pretty good about it.

you should also get Opeth's Blackwater Park, good stuff

as for Porupine Tree, i definately reccomend Deadwing and In Absentia

I've got both bands discographies, this is just me actually supporting the band by buying their CD's. Both Deliverance and Fear of a Blank Planets spoke very well with me, and thus gave me more incentive to buy them the some of the other ones.

Michael Jackson - Thriller (1982)

My condolences MJ. You may have been a walking freakshow, but you were also one hell of a songwriter. R.I.P! = )

Brian Eno - Ambient 1: Music for Airports (1978)

Doesn't really remind me of airports so much as churches or graveyards, but a wonderful album nevertheless which captures Eno's ideals toward ambient in perfect clarity. Great on a rainy day!

Mono - Hymn to the Immortal Wind (2009)

A moody excursion into awesomeness which goes on to prove that Japan is where its at when it comes to post-rock.
