Brainiac - Hissing Prigs in Static Couture (1996)

glitchy, noisy, falsetto-infused punk with a strong smell of new wave-era electronica swirled in. Albini-directed, i'm excited.

It's definitely one of the finer ones.

That is such an outrageous explanation of a band's sound that I am now compelled to download it.

^^^ good call on Myth Takes. xD

Kayo Dot - Blue Lambency Downward (2008)

Different from their first two offerings but no less stimulating than both. They're the kings of classical avant-prog for a damn reason!

Everon - North (2008)

Interesting how a band can go from Saga-esque neo prog. to a rather tasteful yet energetic stadium-progressive rock band with strong pop sensibilities in less than a decade. You think it should be on the radio, but listen closer to the arrangements; these guys aren't fucking around, and I'm enjoying the listening experience so far. The fact there's a fair amount of piano and cello is pretty choice too.
