Brainiac - Hissing Prigs in Static Couture (1996) glitchy, noisy, falsetto-infused punk with a strong smell of new wave-era electronica swirled in. Albini-directed, i'm excited. |

http://www.metal-norge.com/images/omtaler/2789.jpg Kayo Dot - Blue Lambency Downward (2008) Different from their first two offerings but no less stimulating than both. They're the kings of classical avant-prog for a damn reason! :hphones: http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_z8wGk8qKXL...320/Everon.jpg Everon - North (2008) Interesting how a band can go from Saga-esque neo prog. to a rather tasteful yet energetic stadium-progressive rock band with strong pop sensibilities in less than a decade. You think it should be on the radio, but listen closer to the arrangements; these guys aren't fucking around, and I'm enjoying the listening experience so far. The fact there's a fair amount of piano and cello is pretty choice too. |
