Om "Conference of the Birds" A friend of mine is doing an ongoing stoner/sludge/doom metal pimp on another forum I post on and this was what he passed out today, along with Sleeps epic album "Dopesmoker" but I've had that for a while now. |

Yes - Relayer [Remastered] (1974) My favorite Yes album, even above Close to the Edge. The copy of this I dled from ITunes two years ago was pissing me off, so I went and found an EAC ripped FLAC and converted that to .mp3 at 320. I gotta say, the sound-quality is off the fuckin' charts in terms of awesomeness. Critters Buggin' - Guest (1994) Although originally part of the grunge scene where various acts were beginning to peek their unwashed heads out of the underground in the wake of Nirvana and Pearl Jam's successes, Seattle's Critters Buggin' took their sound in an entirelly different direction alltogether - they fused their industrial brand of rock with JAZZ of all things and knocked the socks off of everyone. Although mostly instrumental in nature, this is not your grandaddy's jazz record; the sax is porn film sleazy, the drums and bass virgin tight, and there's all sorts of fun stuff mixed in between all this to keep things off kilter. The result? In-freakin-credible: I just can't word it any other way. So yeah, definitely worth checking out if you want to see what happens when a Grunge-based group with industrial tendencies goes jazz-fusion.
