Les Savy Fav-Cat and the Cobra: I got Inches a few years ago and didn't really get the big deal and decided to way back and I really dig it. It's just a big pile of fun. psychedelic horseshit-magic flowers droned: I've been hearing about these guys for a while but never got around to listening. Pretty much a catchier (aka better) Times New Viking. I like it a lot. Superchunk-First Time Ep Snoozefest deleted The Thermals-Fuckin A Nothing amazing but good enough.

Thanks guys. I'm actually familiar with both albums already, but only had them as mp3s. I'm more selective about what I buy on CD these days, and these are worth it. Actually my favorite June of 44 is Tropics and Meridians, but Four Great Points is close.
I just ordered more stuff online (nice sale at wherehouse.com and some cheapies at Amazon Marketplace): Navies - An Estate The Ruby Doe - Always With Wings (local band I heard on the radio yesterday) Young Widows - Settle Down City Propagandhi - Supporting Caste Propagandhi - Potemkin City Limits Crank: High Voltage [Soundtrack] (Mike Patton) Diamond Watch Wrists - Ice Capped at Both Ends Isis - Wavering Radiant I got into LSV arond the time Go Forth was out, and Inches didn't really do much for me. It didn't feel tight like an album, I guess because it isn't. Have you heard the Rome EP? It's my favorite of their releases.

3 Albums:
MxPx "The Ever Passing Moment" - was stolen from me in high school on this kids last day before transferring, I vowed that if I ever saw him again he would receive a swift kick in the nuts. Yes, Ben, I remember... Darker My Love "2" - yet to give it a listen. Silversun Pickups "Swoon" - I am equally intrigued and unimpressed by this band. The first few spins of Carnavas were good, now I find myself only wanting to listen to 'Lazy Eye' and nothing else. Swoon had the same effect, but with 'Growing Old is Getting Old' and nothing else.

The last album I thought was worth it to buy was Death Magnetic. Or, rather, the NEWEST album I've bought was Death Magnetic. I still find myself frequently buying old treasures by bands like Soundgarden, Rage Against the Machine, etc. I also like to buy live performance DvD's in addition to albums.

On vinyl:
Frank Zappa - The Mothers of Invention/Over-nite Sensation Great album. I'm glad to finally have it on vinyl. Tom Waits - Swordfishtrombones Love this one as well. Tom Waits is a mad man. Tangerine Dream - Stratosfear I picked up this one because of all the good reviews from MB, and I'm so pleased with it. Thanks guys. Opeth - Blackwater Park I had the album already, but on vinyl, it's a completely different sound. Fhttp://www.musicbanter.com/newreply.php?do=postreply&t=16424ucking awesome. |
