Well, I've been on a New Wave and Ambient crunch recently....

Talking Heads - Remain In Light

XTC - Black Sea

Brian Eno & Robert Fripp - No Pussyfooting

Banco De Gaia - Last Train To Lhasa

thoughts on those particular new wave classics, Anteater? The top 2 in particular were ridiculously influential, by that I mean you can hear the 'Heads and XTC in sh*tloads of bands, not that I just read it on wikipedia

Classic status deserved IMO. I love all the polyrhythmns going on through Remain in Light, plus both Belew and Eno were active on it (which was how I got pointed toward it). Makes me want to explore more of the Talking Heads discography.

And XTC are just damn cool, the sort of offbeat pop I dig innately. Will be looking more into them also.

My favorite hip hop album of all time. The skill of the guest rapper on the beginning of track 3 is incredible. Great lyrics and he hits the downbeat on every single rhyme with precision, thats what rapping should sound like.

p.s. NY State of Mind is lyrically one of the best rap songs ever written.

^ I heard Born In '69 six or seven years ago, loved it, and only just decided to get some Rocket From the Crypt. Should be interesting.

Got that myself a couple of days ago along with another one of theirs and an EP too. It's a great album!
