Hawkwind - Space Ritual

Space rock is new to me so maybe this will be a grower, but I'm not too crazy about it yet. Space Is Deep and Orgone Accumulator are the standouts so far. The track talking about space being emotionless and stuff is pretty out there.

Hawkwind pioneered only one kind of space rock though. Hence, I will say to that bands such as the Ozric Tentacles, Gong, Hidria Spacefolk, Eloy and early Pink Floyd might suit your tastes better if you want to hear a more literal kind of "space" rock.

Speaking of which, today I got....

Pink Floyd - A Saucerful of Secrets

Read many a' good thing about this sophomore release, and oddly enough its the only album by them I hadn't heard before. Thus far, I'm convinced its one of the best albums I've ever heard.

Jan Dukes de Grey - Mice and Rats in the Loft

Obscure acid-folk in the vein of Comus arranged into prog-like suites? **** yeah!!!!

Don't forget desert rock legends like Kyuss & Nebula and the '80s and '90s resurgence of space rock in Britain with Spacemen 3, Spiritualized, The Verve, etc.

For some reason I never completed the purchase of The Black Keys - Rubber Factory.

Just did, and I have to say, "Keep Me" is insanely good. Brought this band to yet even a higher level in my book, if that's even possible. Brilliant.

Last album that I received (didn't buy, as it was given to me by the band.. some cool ass dudes):

Ballyhoo! - Cheers

Last album that I downloaded:

Sugar Ray - Lemonade & Brownies

I was pleasantly surprised by the Sugar Ray pick, as it's not the sound you'd expect from hearing their pop-esque 90s radio hits. It's been classified as funk-metal. I'm really digging it.
