How the fuck have you avoided having the Beatles being shoved down your throat every waking moment of your life?

Oh and well done on BMSR, loose lips sink ships.

it's definitely not universal.

i wasn't familiar with Beatles at all until I got Revolver when I was 18, I saw 'Paperback Writer' on the music channels and thought it was a good rocker... the band didn't fully click until a couple of years later so I was lucky to discover them (and most other music) on my own.

you just can't get the parents these days can you?

Already gone on a bit of a spree this morning so, owing to the 4-image limit, here's four of them;

Captain Beefheart - Lick My Decals Off Baby [ta Jackhammer]

Belle and Sebastian - The Life Pursuit

The Flaming Lips - Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots

Beastie Boys - Paul's Boutique

Dr. Ring-Ding & The Senior Allstars - Big Up!
Whats with the recent german reggae/ska fascination?!

The Redskins - Neither Washington nor Moscow
A bit of soul, funk, punk, jazz.
Quite enjoyable if you can ignore the lyrics.

Nice choice, top album and all. It's all about the Power Is Yours and It Can Be Done. I think I'll stick it on again in a bit...

Nothing hugely original, but definitely great stuff. You might like their debut a bit more as it has a lot of horn work.
