Along with the Future Sound Of London's Lifeforms, that's easily my favourite album those two guys have ever been responsible for.

^I've decided to download some of that after i've finished my journal entry, Great writeup!

Downloaded that a while ago and forgot to listen to it. No better reason to give it a spin now.

Broken Bells - Broken Bells

I'm loving this album. For those who don't know it's a collaboration between Shins frontman James Mercer and Danger Mouse. It sprang into life on the first listen with really great memorable songs and i'm sure i'll be listening to this regularly over the next few months. Great stuff.

I'm a bit late getting into The National but better late than never. Didn't quite live up to my expectations on the first listen but i'm sure with a few more spins it'll really grow on me.

It definitely will, I am actually listening to it right now, it's about my 6th spin and it just keeps getting better, I think it's almost as good as Alligator.

From what I've heard this is suppose to be one of the best symphonic black metal albums of the year.

I've had that album for a good while now and i've never grown to like it. There's a couple of good songs on it but overall it's a really underwhelming album. The Manics to me, despite some great songs like Motorcycle Emptiness and Design For Life, are a really average band.

Good god...good luck getting through all that. I love Tangerine Dream, but damn...I honestly had no clue they had such a wealth of material.

haha yeah i already have a an obscene amount of music. i'm thinking about the future. it won't be this easy to get free music forever, so i figure i might as well go nuts and built a nice collection. i can listen to these when i'm retired :)

Michael Stipe can't stand that song himself, so yeah. I've never been able to get into REM myself, but I own that album, I just never listen to it. If you like it, you should check out Murmur, that seems to be one of their most popular ones.

Lol, same reason I never bothered with R.E.M. until 3-4 years ago. I knew they had some good songs but I hated "Shiny Happy People" and "Losing My Religion". To this day I still haven't heard that album (I've heard everything else up to and including New Adventures in Hi-Fi).
