Dimmu Borgir - Death Cult Armageddon (2003)

I forgot how awesome this album was so I picked it up while at Best Buy looking at headphones. I don't care if this is the most commercial and polished album in the band's discography, from a production stand point it's beautiful and from a metal fan's viewpoint it's the kind of album you'd expect to bed the soundtrack of some dark fantasy movie.

I love Opeth and Pain of Salvation. I enjoy Ayreon a lot and... Tool and Between the buried and me are great as well.
And Porcupine Tree? My loved band number two. Deadwing is good choice for first listening. But it's not so much only metal.

I am going to check Dewin Townsend and some other names too.

Tegan and Sara (or Sara and Tegan at this time) - Red Demo

Love this demo so much, actually I like all their demos, the yellow one the most, but the music they recorded under the name Sara and Tegan is so fantastic, I wish they would remaster some of these songs, most specifically Painting Songs.

RVCA 05-09-2010 09:52 PM

Went home this weekend, spent all my time downloading music.

Beach House - Devotion

Boards of Canada - The Campfire Headphase
BRMC - Baby 81
Circa Survive - Blue Sky Noise
Desert Sessions - All Volumes :love::love: (another thing I'm kicking myself for not having acquired earlier)
Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeroes - Self-Titled
Fu Manchu - Signs of Infinite Power
Metallica - S&M (still kicking myself)
Mew - No More Stories
Pavement - All 5 albums, after seeing all the praise they get here
Phoenix - It's Never Been Like That
Pinback - Blue Screen Life (I love pinback so much)
Refused - The Shape of Punk to Come
Shout Out Louds - Work
The Company Band - Self Titled

They have 5 early demos, only 3 are available for a mass audience and those are the Red Demo and Yellow Demo, both from 1998, and then there is the Play Day (or Plunk Demo) from when they were known as Plunk, and that was released in 1996. The Play Day demo is the least acessable out of the three due to the poor recording quality and the fact they were only 15/16 when they recorded it, still one of my favorites though, has my third favorite T&S song on it.

Last album I downloaded was

Sounds very intriguing. I suppose you'd be the person to ask if someone would like to acquire such a release? (hint, hint) :)

Yes I would be, and also the person you would ask if you want any other possible Tegan and Sara song (minus some live tracks since I don't like those)

The Agonist - Once Only Imagined (2007)

Well I'll be damned... metalcore can actually be good, it just has to be sung by a hot chick with blueish purple hair and some killer guttural vocals. Also get rid of the chuggah chuggah chuggah breakdown and suddenly it's quite pleasant.

Laura Marling - I Speak Because I Can (2010)

With the noticeable maturation of her voice, instrumentals, and lyrical content as compared to her previous album, her music has parked within my interests. The mounting intensity of Alpha Shallows and Hope in the Air nicely contrasts with soothing tracks such as Made by Maid and Blackberry Stone. There seems to be a growing similarity between her music and the great Joni Mitchell, particularly noticeable in Goodbye England. Only just exiting her teen years, Laura Marling, in my book, is a respectable artist and produces music that is not confined to the enjoyment of a single generation.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
9/10
