Bob Dylan - Infidels
http://bigpondmusic.com/images/Album...L/Infidels.jpg

^ Heard a song or two off it which were pretty cool, so I thought it was worth a gander.

Bob Dylan - Down In the Groove
http://thevannoys.dyndns.org/Glen/CD...e%20Groove.jpg

^ I'm fully aware that this album doesn't exactly have the most generous reputation. It's got Death Is Not the End on it though, which was uber-cool when Nick Cave covered it, so I thought I might as well.

Rufus Wainwright - Release the Stars
http://wiredradio.co.uk/uploads/reviews/review_14.jpg

^ My first Rufus Wainwright album - a bloke I've been meaning to start listening to for years now.

I have been listening to In Rainbows a ton (Bodysnatchers is the single greatest song of the last decade) but haven't listened to some old school Radiohead in a while. Count me in on getting hip as well :D

Everyone on this forum is getting hip at the same time! I listened to OK Computer for the first time in a while last week though, should really listen to that and The Bends more often.

I actually have been listening to OK Computer quite a bit now that I think of it. Climbing up the walls is like my 2nd fav Radio Head song of all time. The Bends has a lot of good songs on it too, haven't listened to that in at least a year :P

James 05-03-2010 05:58 PM

Climbing Up The Walls is my favourite :D

Needless to say, the hype has me very excited to hear the end product.

I Monster - Neverroddereven (2007)

All albums I have had on my hard drive for yonks and all albums I love dearly. It is nice to have the physical copies for my car now, but I really do wish more artists would include lyrics with the CD's.

They seem like a decent band, not listened to them a lot though.

Flying Lotus - Cosmograma

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...500_AA300_.jpg

Just posted this in the Albums You're Digging thread, but it's my most recent acquisition. I probably posted it here when I first pre-ordered the CD, and I got it in the mail last night but I just downloaded the official MP3s from Bleep (included with pre-order) this morning so I could play it at work.

The Atomic Bitchwax - The Atomic Bitchwax 1

This is some the best bluesy, stonery, hard rockin **** I've heard since Clutch... I think Antonio would absolutely eat up this band.

Mike Patton - Mondo Cane

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...500_AA300_.jpg

I just ordered this CD on Amazon after getting an email about a Mike Patton sale. $10.99 is pretty good. The other prices are nothing special though. Anyway the album is out tomorrow, hopefully in my mailbox before the end of the week.

You got yours? Mine still hasn't arrived. Should have it in my hands by tonight.

I was actually surprised to get it so soon, as they apparently only started shipping them out Thursday last week (from UK).

Bob Dylan - Empire Burlesque
http://prorock.ro/images/BOB%20DYLAN...0BURLESQUE.jpg

Again, one album that's meant to be pretty good, another that I'm basically only getting for one song off of it.

TheCunningStunt 05-05-2010 05:31 AM

Thank you :D

More Nick Cave albums will be on their way, I'm thinking of Henry's Dream and Your Funeral, My Trail next.

And they should do you good. Henry's Dream is definitely among my favourites of his. Your Funeral My Trial's really good as well, not quite up there with his very best for me though.

Talking of new albums, I just thought I'd get a bit more classic jazz I've been missing out on in the shapes of these two little nuggets...

If Henry's Dream is up there with Murder Ballads I'll be very happy. Never heard story telling in songs quite like it. I feel like I've been missing out because I've heard of him since Arctic Monkey's did a cover and heard him mentioned on here a time or two, but I never thought to give him a listen. Better late then never :D

Bought on CD:

http://interloper.files.wordpress.co...bloodcover.jpg

Slayer - Reign in Blood

Found out I had amassed a $25 gift credit with Best Buy so I decided to pick up a CD I sold ages ago to help pay for gas one day.

Ditto

My Morning Jacket-Evil Urges
A Kentucky Wilco? Sounds worth a listen.
A reinvention met with vast critical acclaim and claims to being the best band in America?Might be something there
A description on allmusic.com as being possessed with" diversions into funk and prog, its falsetto vocals, its eclecticism"?Very intriguing.
