A fantastic 50th anniversary edition of 6 x CDs, 4 x vinyl 12" LPs and a Blu Ray 5.1 surround mix version.
So you lied to me.

Still totally absorbed with looking for Danish music from the 80's and 90's. Got a bunch of albums with Sanne Salomonsen, Søs Fenger and Anne Linnet.

I'm posting a track from the Anne Linnet album I couldn't find. Between christmas and new year, I'm going to Copenhagen to visit my sister. There's a neat record store in the city that I visit every year. Hoping to find that and other CDs there.

Anne Linnet - Lille Messias ("Little Messiah")

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aYrcswJ-IBE
EDIT: This one is a christmas song, as such. About Maria giving birth to the messiah. It's not a christmas album though. I like how the lyrics draw a contrast between the idea of the divine and the human. Making mention of birth pains and contrasting the promise of a messiah with the harsh conditions of child birth and life in general. Motherhood is paired with the image of the small but hardy birds who survive through the Danish winter. I'm terrible at talking about lyrics, but I only even try because I think Anne Linnet and some of these other songwriters are well above average in that department.

Anne Linnet is kind of an interesting singer. She's got a very unusual, sort of clipped way of singing and a slightly husky voice. Like several other Danish singers I've been getting into, she's first and foremost one hell of a songwriter.

Annoyingly, I saw this very CD downtown a week ago. Didn't know at that time that I was interested in Anne Linnet albums. Then I check her stuff out online and when I go to get the CD, it's gone.

Here's another song of hers that I really like. This one is from a CD I managed to find.

Anne Linnet & Marquis De Sade- En Elsker Fra Eller Til ("One lover more or less")

Søs Fenger is also a great songwriter. She's got a rock solid grip on melodic songwriting.
It goes for both her and Anne Linnet that the lyrics are very lyrical and smart, with a lot
of effective mental imagery and meaningful themes.

Søs Fenger - Stjernenat ("Night of stars")

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=asNohEiWNc8

Got a feeling some of these will be blocked outside of Denmark.
*sigh* whatever.

I hardly even know about Anna David. I know I've heard that song on the radio. Not really my style, but there's far more offensively bad Danish artists on the radio these days.

Lucem, you're right, it's silly to talk about what I would or wouldn't do IRL. Glad you brought it up. Maybe you should write an instrumental about it. I recommend a piano paired with a clarinet. With ambient sounds of you hanging from your shower curtain you ****ing failure.
