Dark Tranquility - We Are the Void (2010) Probably the most consistent melodic death metal band is back and this album is a welcome change to the crap In Flames has been putting out lately. http://mediaboom.org/uploads/posts/2...rsal_cover.jpg Borknager - Universal (2010) Another amazing album from the Norwegian progressive black metal outfit. This album is nearly on par with Enslaved's album Below the Lights (2003) |
Last one i didn't load for free or through spotify was Genesis-Foxtrot

Imogen Heap - Ellipse
http://image3.examiner.com/images/bl...-album-art.jpg I've been watching her vlogs over on youtube about making this album, so I thought I'd take the plunge and get it myself. Should be interesting at least. |
The new one from " Neon Trees" ITS awesome!!!

Slik D - Midnight Vibes (2010) Top class, starry eyed hip-hop for the nightly minded; these beats are so chill they could freeze lava. http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_b3bCjnVnXo...400/folder.jpg Sadist - Tribe (1996) Death metal and world music's favorite lovechild. The floating, almost mystical keyboard work here contrasts wonderfully with the skull cracking riffs/drums/bass that keep this record grounded in lovable violence. Quite a trip so far! http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_499wVdW8GZ...Bfront%5D.jpeg The Psychedelic Furs - Forever Now (1982) Post-punk with a pop sensibility...or perhaps just a bunch of New Wave grooves that fumble amidst Gothic synthesizing and the occasional howling of an alto sax. Recommendable to the nth degree in either case! |
http://img.noiset.com/images/album/a...oad-54449.jpeg
Alias - The Other Side of the Looking Glass (2004) Some really good hip hop from the Anticon label. http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_coFoAhVunL...0/loveless.jpg Japancakes - Loveless (2007) A tribute to My Blood Valentine's 1991 hit album Loveless with the vocals replaced by a steel guitar and the distortion replaced with clean tones. Could be horrid, could be awesome. http://en.academic.ru/pictures/enwik...s_swansong.jpg Carcass - Swansong (1996) I've had this on my hard drive for yonks but I found a used copy for 10 bucks so I figured why not. http://radioloveless.files.wordpress...oneys_dead.jpg Jesus and the Mary Chain - Honey's Dead (1992) Same with Swansong, been on my hard drive for a while and I found a used copy within my price range. |

The last Album I got was Ke$ha. Not a fan of her lyrics but the beat of her music. Its the kind of music that makes you want to get up and dance.

Excellent Death Metal on the rise. This EP can be downloaded for free via their MySpace, etc. Majesty is currently holding 1st place in the Vans Warped Tour Battle of the Bands. |

The Company Band- Self Titled Super group with members of Fireball Ministry and Clutch. I'll listen to any band with Neil Fallon in it. |
Went a bit nuts with the downloads today. These should keep me occupied for a while at least.
The Left Banke - There's Gonna Be a Storm http://i038.radikal.ru/0801/7c/74f4b3083282.jpg Billie Holiday - Lady In Satin http://www.plong.com/MusicCatalog%5C...In%20Satin.jpg Erik Satie - Piano Works http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_Eoq19XgIYv...s320/satie.jpg Miles Davis - Round About Midnight http://www.classicjazzcorner.com/sca...t_midnight.jpg Also managed to get hold of some random David Ackles compilation at the same time. |
Nice choices there.
Side note: I dont know why, but I love jazz album covers. |

Aesop Rock - Daylight EP
I thought I'd had just about everything that I wanted or needed from the man, but after going through his discography I realized there were a few little stragglers, like this EP. It's been ages since I've heard it, but I haven't had to chance to really sit down and give it a good listen this time around. I do know that there's an interesting alternate version of the song Daylight on here called Nightlight, which is basically the classic song with a different beat and modified lyrics. http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_qqvbTlPznJ...+-+blogger.jpg Grant Green -Live at the Lighthouse Grant Green was one of the eminent guitarist in the realm of 60's and 70's acid jazz, and this live album, as a whole, is far from amazing, but I had to have it for the live versions of Windjammer and Jan Jan. Both songs clocking in at over 12 minutes, are groovy as hell, and definitely worth acquiring the whole album. http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_GFrKh-YS0K...ighthouse1.jpg Edit: Bulldog, big thumbs up on the Billie, Miles, and Satie. Does the Satie album include all or any of his Gymnopedies? |

Got some compilations to broaden my listening horizons.
http://www.israbox.com/uploads/posts...a1boxfront.jpg 25 Years Of Rough Trade Shops http://www.thelineofbestfit.com/wp-c.../02/rtcc08.jpg Rough Trade Counter Culture 08 http://www.normanrecords.com/images/covers/96580.jpg These should keep me amused for a bit, can up if anyone wants. That Disc 2 of the 25 Years looks tasty. |
Just found out I somehow had $80 on my iTunes account, so I bought some new ****:

chick's got a brilliant voice, jobim's playing is minimal at points but still rings true. http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_B77Ri2dP0F...s400/front.jpg epic stuff from some obscure orchestra in eastern europe. blends classical, jazz, folk, and even funk elements to make one beauteous album. |

Cibo Matto - Viva La Woman So the title of this album is corny...but this is highly addictive and really quirky electro-pop. Plus the singers are so damn cute. Sean Lennon contributes to the band and one of the singers did a lot for the Gorillaz debut. This song is called Sugar Water: |

I enjoyed it though it didn't do a whole lot for me, but I can definitely see its appeal.
