Shellac | 1000 Hurts

What? Who? When? Why? What the fuck? This has been slapped in my lap. Somewhat disturbing post-hardcore/noise rock sound going on. Whoever this Steve Albini is I'm much more interested now.

As always, I’m intrigued. What kind of music is this? Is it good?

Japanese band doing psychedelic/space rock calculated jams.
Think LSD March, Strawberry Path or Acid Mothers Guru Guru
with a little bit of 70s freeform German rock mixed with the guitar
space-lightness of Ummagumma-era Floyd. I've been a fan.

this is what someone else has to say about it

Quote:

If Depeche Mode now come across as your usual, comfortable, stadium-friendly firmament of the establishment, then these guys certainly hark back to the hedonistic early 90s era of that band. But with some (dare I say it?) proggy and doom metal chops thrown into the mix. I applaud.
