All three simultaneously. :)

Hell yes, been waiting for this one. And anybody who hasn't heard Souvenirs d'un Autre Monde should really do themselves a favor and give it a listen.

He has another project called Amesoeurs which is fantastic as well. However the stuff under that alias is more on the Black Metal side of things. (Not all the songs though).. and the band is also now defunct.

That Moonsorrow album is a rather good one :) The first track (Rauiliona) is my fav, then the rest all go a bit down hill from there personally.

Everything But the Girl - Amplified Heart

http://ocadernoroxo.files.wordpress....1-lzzzzzzz.jpg

This one's from before EBTG's famed move into chilled, downtempo electronica. To be honest, I do much prefer that area of their output to the other, earlier songs I've heard, but this album sounds kinda neat from the snippets I've heard anyway.

Lunascape - Mindstalking

http://www.gothtronic.com/Goth/img_/...ndstalking.jpg

And this here's some more downtempo, chillout stuff, which I'm kinda in the mood for at the minute.

Actually, Amplified Heart was the first album to mark their shift towards electronic music. "Missing" was a huge club hit back in the day.

There are a few shades of their future direction on the album, but I reckon it's the Missing remix you're thinking of there. Can't remember who did the mix (his name's Todd somethingorother, I recall that much), but it's one of the best remixes I've ever heard, and it's hearing the result of it that encouraged the group to properly go down the avenue they did.

It'd be awesome if they did a new album. They've officially been on hiatus for about a decade now, which probably means they've packed it in altogether, but I can still hope!

Local Natives - Gorilla Manor

I'm already liking this on the first listen. There seems to be a lot going on here and it will certainly reveal itself more with a few listens. They sound like a rockier Fleet Foxes and there's some great vocal hooks and guitar melodies here.

Blood Red Shoes - Fire Like This

They first came to my attention a couple of years ago but i never got the chance to check them out until now. This is their new album and it's packed with scuzzy, distorted, anthemic guitar pop with a nice mix of male and female vocals. Awesome stuff :)

Alcest - Écailles de Lune (2010)

Looks like the Album of the Year leaked a bit earlier than expected. And yes, it's really really really fucking good.

Ditto. It's really good so far.

Todd Terry mixed 'Missing' as a bonus track and it was that track that inspired Ben Watt to branch out. The album has barely no electronic work at all. It's still bloody great though.

scottsy 03-08-2010 07:15 PM

It's funny because after hearing Missing I seriously thought Everything but The Girl was this full on electronic act with only electronic / club oriented music... how much that one track misled my good self...

The Abracadaver 03-08-2010 07:36 PM

Just got this album, really great.

Nine Black Poppies 03-08-2010 09:53 PM

In the process of getting the entire Current 93 and Nurse With Wound discographies (or at least everything I can find).

It's gonna be pretty epic.

Oh, and I just got ZZ Top's Tres Hombres and Kansas's Leftoverture on LP for $0.30 each, which I was rather pleased with.

Bulldog 03-09-2010 04:32 AM

The mighty mighty Fall's new album Our Future, Your Clutter. Can't post any artwork, as it's due out officially on April 26th. I'm just that sneaky ;)

Can't wait to give this one a spin.

Amazingly jealous. I can't wait to here this bugger! Such promise since the 2007 release, hopefully it is not an anti-climax.

katrine 03-09-2010 10:44 AM

I bought BLCK by Troels Abrahamsen yesterday. I'm really excited to hear it! Originally it was meant as a more club-oriented album, but thankfully he didn't do that and now his voice is really in focus, which is great! His voice just has this amazing thing about it that I can’t really describe..

BLCK is supposed to be a lot darker than his last album, also a good thing because he really does melancholic electronica so well!

Good luck with that.

I got Current 93's discog about 3 years ago.

I'm STILL working my way through it.

Black Future by Vektor. This band is so rad. I'm really enjoying the album.

A Buddy of mind put me onto Black Moth Super Rainbow and I found these guys through them. So far I'm impressed.

Just bought Derdang Derdang by the Archie Bronson Outfit. It's a couple years old, but it's the best semi-grunge guitar based outfit I've heard in a while.

What a great album indeed! One which I may very well have to revisit tonight, definitely one of my favorites in the Genesis back catalogue...

I really think it could used some of the samples more effectively and maybe incorporated more, but then again, I love Seinfeld.

Might want to knab Black Uhuru's Red while you're at it.

lucifer_sam 03-09-2010 08:36 PM

Already have it. Along with catalogs of most of the bigger names (Burning Spear, Steel Pulse, The Abyssinians, Linton Kwesi...)

I do not have that much rocksteady or ska, that's what I'm catching up on right now. :)

Rickenbacker 03-09-2010 08:37 PM

I should have known, Sam. You definitely picked some winners there, some of which I should really get a hold of myself.

For some reason (maybe it's just the large amount of featured artists) it doesn't always feel like I'm listening to a Gorillaz album, but I'm still enjoying this quite a bit.
