Neko Case - The Worse Things Get, the Harder I Fight, the Harder I Fight, the More I Love You

Alt-country, singer/songwriter type thing with gorgeous vocals, fantastic sound quality and some very engaging chord progressions.
Very good album. I'm suddenly a fan of her work.

I love me some Neko Case but as a slut for Loretta Lyn and Dolly Parton I gotta say that The Virginian is a brilliant country pop record and is one of the most fun things you can ever listen to. She never sounded like that again but damn was it a banger.

The only other album of hers that I've heard is Middle Cyclone, so I've got a lot to explore. I'm not sure what I'll think of her earliest material, but it would be cool if the albums didn't all sound the same. Maybe she will be my gateway to Parton and some other famous country artists.

I actually just assumed you had grown up with Parton, Nelson, etc. and that's where you got the country appreciation from.
Aren't you a South State boy?

Actually I lived my first ten years in Japan so I was always too busy learning the sword to bother with redneck music.
