^ New Logic (first pic) is quite good in my opinion. Nowhere near his first few mixtapes though.

Of Montreal - White is Relic / Irrealis Mood (2018)

Finally. He had a run of forgettable albums in dire need of editing and I was starting to fear it was never going to end. But this is good. A grower for sure, but its potential is at least obvious. He went for an extended-play sorta-disco album, and committing to 6 songs instead of 18 really helped him reign in the chaos. The songs are still eclectic instrumentally, but they're still focused--not the sound-salad of his last 4 releases.

Just in case, by some chance, some of you were harbouring any lingering sense of respect for me, this is what I was listening to when I went to do the shopping today. Haven't heard it in over twenty years, enjoyed every note. Really took me back. RIP Rick.

Even for a Bon Jovi fan, 7800 is basically mostly crap, I feel: a few good tracks ("Only Lonely/Tokyo Road/Silent Night/Price of Love") but most of the rest sets it firmly, for me, at the bottom of their discography.

If you're a fan, and have not heard it, try These Days or The Circle, or even Keep the Faith.
