Tim Buckley - Greetings from L.A. (1972)
Enjoyed most of it (Move with Me, Make it Right, Hong Kong Bar, and Nighthawkin' in particular). The further it leaned into Sir Douglas Quintet or Honky Chateau sort of territory the more I liked it. Anybody out there known of some other good n greasy honky rock albums? |

Just ordered these two on Amazon:
http://www.nuclearblast.de/static/ar...pg/400x400.jpg https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon....jL._SY450_.jpg I've been digging around for classical music and jazz for a while, so I felt a strong need for some braindead, hook oriented and loud metal. The first of the two should deliver hooks in spades, the second one more than a little loud, brash, modern metal energy. I only know a couple tracks from each, so I'm excited to hear all of them. EDIT: And yes, that Dark Element cover is really crap. I just didn't bother stating the obvious, but I feel like someone else will if I dont. And I got this one in the mail yesterday: http://musicabrasileira.org/WordPres...Fernandes.jpeg This is a fairly obscure album from last year that I only know of because I read the list of best albums of the past year posted on Ted Gioia's personal webiste. Far from the only cool thing I've found in there. I ran it on repeat on my stereo last night. Seems really good, but the tracks take a while to settle in your mind since they're these fairly complex and forward moving piano pieces. |

Vintermusik by Dag Rosenqvist & Rutger Zuydervelt it snowed ~36cm last night and it's still going. this album cover resembles my office window view so figured this would be a perfect accompaniment to the weather. much less "cold" than a lot of winter ambient but a nice listen while i'm cozy inside |

Bought a few today.
OK Computer - Radiohead I really love this album, but "Airbag" has a bunch of skips in it, which ****ing sucks. Also, the place I bought it from has been so damn good about never selling me any CDs with skips, so yeah I'm pretty damn disappointed about that. Speakerboxxx/The Love Below - OutKast The case was ****ed up and the CDs has some nicks in them, but it plays without skips, and it was basically two really great albums that were pretty significant to my teenage years for $4. Pure Comedy - Father John Misty Yeah, I had to bite the bullet on full price because this album is just that significant where it's worth it. One of those albums that's very relevant with the times, and also the dude sounds a lot like an in-his-prime Elton John, but he's being backed by modern production. I got hooked on this album the first time I listened to it, so I'm pretty damn happy about the purchase. |
