A much needed expansion of the classical part of my CD collection.

I don't know so much about classical yet, but I've figured out that I connect more with composers born after the year 1800. Hence a lot of these choices. The 3rd CD from the top, I pretty much just picked because there's a bit of Erik Satie on it. Ever since I watched My Dinner With Andre, I've been looking for a disc with some of his work on it. Sadly not the same piece from the movie, but still, I want to hear more from him.

I've never seen that movie,
but I'm guessing the Satie was this
enormously overplayed Gymnopédie #1.
If you're going to listen to Satie piano music,
you can't go wrong with Ciccolini, but there is
sooooo much more than this piece.

[Surprised and delighted to see that you have a Mary Jane Leach recording].

Yeah, that was it. That movie was the only place where I remember bumping into it though.

I've been looking for a quality CD with all of the gymnopedies collected in one place.
Maybe I'll find one with this Aldo Ciccolini fellow. Seems like the way to go if Amazon can provide.

Well, there are only 3, but Ciccolini is the man.

In the US, we can get the complete piano works on 5 discs
for about the same price as the one you found, so check on
your side of the pond very carefully. The complete works are
absolutely wonderful.

Seems like I'm going to have to pay a lot more for any such collection. I found the album above for just 2-5 pounds, depending on condition and postage. But thanks for the heads-up. I'm going to check some more sites before I settle on anything. I won't be getting anything until a bit into next month anyway.

Being in a country of about, what - 5 or 6 million? -
do you order from Amazon UK? ...and what are the
shipping regulations? For example, does £11 to £15
translate to big kroner in your country? Satie in UK
