Timber Timbre - Sincerely, Future Pollution (2017)

It's a huge bummer when an otherwise forgettable album has one great song on it. Seems like such a waste of a song, you know? That one song is Bleu Nuit. **** the rest of this.

Any particular favorite Timber Timbre record?

No, to be honest. I've only hear this and Creep On Creepin' On and neither really did it for me. I haven't thrown in the towel on them or anything though, so I'll listen to the rest some time.

Yeah I'm not a huge fan either but Creep On Creepin' On I think is fantastic. The other records in their catalog I've never really sought out after though.

These three I got recently:

Cruachan is folk metal. The guitars honestly sound kind of bad on this album, but I still quite like it. This genre really under delivers, concidering how well I know it can be done. Arkona is still the only truly great folk metal band I've heard of. Cruachan is a distant second place for me.

The Judie Tzuke album is great. I can see this becoming a favorite of mine. It sounds really great too.

I'm liking the Tori Amos album more and more and will write about it in my journal when I feel like I have a proper grasp of it. It's more than an hour long, so there's a lot to absorb. I was toying with the idea of making a Batlord style thread where I would try to badger people to get into Tori Amos, like he's done with Ke$ha, ICP and Dolly Parton, but I don't think it would end well and I'm not good at being pushy. So it's not gonna happen.

For an album released in 1979, and a debut at that, it's pretty damn epic. I do hate "New Friends Again", but the rest is gold.

I'll chance you with another favourite female artist of mine.

I listened to this track three times in a row just now. I really want the music to be more interesting, as this sits so heavily in AOR/adult contemporary (not sure which term is more appropriate) territory that the music itself is a mere afterthought, providing some rather workmanlike but unimpressive backing for her voice. BUT! What a voice it is! If there's some more musically involving entries in her discography, I could quite possibly get into that. She's got a very beautfiful color to her voice that does feel pretty captivating.
