Nicky Holland - Nicky Holland (1992) Picked this up by chance after remembering MicShazam's post on female singer-songwriters. Really good stuff: jazzy pop with a strong K.d. Lang meets Joni Mitchell sort of vibe. She's written songs with the mighty Tears For Fears too!. Yazz Ahmed - La Saboteuse (2017) One of the best trumpeters in jazz today. She's played with everyone from Radiohead to Swing Out Sister. This particular project is hard to pigeonhole: it has some jazz-fusion aspects to it (lots of instrumental interplay, including bassoon, guitar and sax), but also incorporates elements from Ethiopian and Iranian folk traditions. Very cinematic sounding material in the best way possible.

Which one? Cause Zodiac was solid, the others he never really took it too seriously, including this new one. He has a song called 'Stinky The Rapist'. It's honestly probably his worst album period.
Vic Mensa - The Autobiography I was really hyped for this album because of his EP from last year, There's A Lot Going On, was phenomenal. This album was a slight let down because it didn't live up to the EP for me. But it is still a great album though. Still a lot of really good songs like Heaven On Earth.

I've never actually heard of Nicky Holland. I picked a random track off Youtube and I like it a lot! She also reminds me a bit of Julia Fordham due to the low voice and the smoothness of the music. Last edited by MicShazam; 08-11-2017 at 11:49 AM. |

Black metal with piano replacing guitar, leaving a lot to be desired, but I can't deny the places where it goes hard https://wreche.bandcamp.com/

First impressions from the leak: This album oozes sex. Production has its low points, but Homme's vocals are so on point. The John Carpenter like synthwork is a good addition. Lyrically this is probably one of their strongest albums. Full review will be coming when the album drops on the 25th.

Yeah. It's not a good album but it's intention was to be fun and/or funny with shocking humor. That's kind of always been his thing. Comedy albums tend to never live past the punchlines though. But I do like one song from it. Can't remember the name though.
