Christian Death - Only Theatre of Pain (1982)
I was only previously familiar with the song 'Stairs - Uncertain Journey', but this whole album is pretty cool.

Fields of the Nephilim - Elizium (1990)
Bombastic gothic rock with a strong emphasis on atmosphere. It took me a few plays to get into but this seriously good.

The Eden House - Smoke & Mirrors (2009)
A gothic rock/ethereal wave supergroup of sorts. Also delightfully atmospheric.

We used to have Goths come down the street from the high school into our store
who'd buy anything with Rozz Williams on it (and just about anything on Cleopatra).
When Williams snuffed it, I'm sure there were anguished cries from these kids.

Now Playing:

never heard of george sawaya. i looked up the tracklist and none of the tracks sound familiar

He was a mid-century oud player who was born in Roumieh - just outside of Beirut.
If I remember correctly, he lived in Canada (Quebec? - I'll have to check the liner notes)
for most of his life.

(can't get the vid to load properly for some reason, so...)
