Christian Death - Only Theatre of Pain (1982) I was only previously familiar with the song 'Stairs - Uncertain Journey', but this whole album is pretty cool. http://www.securecrazydiamond.com/dizq/64576.jpg Fields of the Nephilim - Elizium (1990) Bombastic gothic rock with a strong emphasis on atmosphere. It took me a few plays to get into but this seriously good. http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-I7iZ0c2kZP...1242060519.jpg The Eden House - Smoke & Mirrors (2009) A gothic rock/ethereal wave supergroup of sorts. Also delightfully atmospheric. |

He was a mid-century oud player who was born in Roumieh - just outside of Beirut.
If I remember correctly, he lived in Canada (Quebec? - I'll have to check the liner notes) for most of his life. (can't get the vid to load properly for some reason, so...) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-o96nkaoSwg |
