I saw them supporting Children of Bodom back before the singer got arrested for trying to hire a hitman to murder his wife and they actually slayed. "Within Destruction" was one of those cool moments that causes a surge of people to the pit when it starts.

The Gerogerigegege - Moeinai Hai (2016)

Semi-ambient field recordings album with a couple of sick twists and turns in it. I quite enjoyed this actually. The second track is rad as **** and it's not overlong or overwrought.

Oneohtrix Point Never - Garden of Delete (2015)

Eh, this was messy and uninteresting at the same time. Nah.

Sivert Hoyem - Lioness (2016)

This feels like a poor man's Wovenhand. Like, the man has a wonderful singing voice but I wanted to turn it off halfway through and put on Blue Pail Fever instead. The music itself was predictable and unremarkable.

Monei Hai is mega awesome, claustrophobic, and lonely. Great stuff.

Wilco - Star Wars (2015)

This is like the Wilco version of when Weezer lost their minds and started releasing **** like Hurley and Raditude. It's like they're trying to get out of a contract or something.

Bass Drum of Death - GB City (2011)

Bass-drum heavy garage rock. I'd actually rec this to Qwerty and Tristoff, it was a lot of fun. It complements the stuff we were playing in Plug without nicking from it too much.

The Saturdays - On Your Radar (2011)

I was reading about the formation of this group, and they said they'd been offered to record material that Girls Aloud rejected, and they found that insulting and passed. They really shouldn't have. This record sounds like it's both run-of-the-mill girl group and like it's trying distantly to ape Girls Aloud and the effect is a really boring, generic pop music album. The first track was good and then it tanked thereafter with ballads and predictable choruses.

Crystal Castles - Amnesty (I) (2016)

This sounds like they didn't even lose Alice Glass, and for me, that's a problem, because it sounds like the same old ****. Should've taken Glass's departure as an opportunity to do something new instead of hiring a singer to sound exactly like Glass on half the tracks, then be drowned out in fuzz on the other half of the album. Crystal Castles II and III are pretty much everything you need from these guys and you can pass the rest up.

Way ahead of ya

Been listening to this band for a few years now, and I'm sure Qwertyy's heard it as some point too.

I'll check that dictionary, but in the meantime I'm impressed - as is everyone else in the world - by your eloquence, obvious accomplishments and success, and the evidence of your blazingly high intelligence.

Femme - Debutante (2016)

Straight synthpop record and I honestly can't decide if it's worth keeping or not. It has a couple of really good tracks, then a bunch of stuff that's just mediocre. Are 3 good songs worth keeping an artist around? I'm not sure. The rest is not terrible, but definitely forgettable.

Beaty Heart - Mixed Blessings (2014)

I should hate this. It's a completely derivative rip-off of two artists I already don't like: Animal Collective and Vampire Weekend. It's a recipe for disaster and it's been widely panned because people who like this kind of music hate it, and people who hate this kind of music hate it. But for some reason, I actually kinda liked it. It's like they tossed out all the stuff from those bands that made me dislike them and kept only the good stuff. It's not amazing, but against all odds, it's not bad.

Japanese instrumental surf rock with a heavy dose of The Ventures as a major influence on the music.
