I usually hear them used as synonyms for each other but just make sure you look to see if the one you're getting has a built in preamp. If it doesn't you're probably looking at an extra 60-100 dollars just for that.

It's not tedious whatsoever, it's one of the most adventurous metalcore albums I've heard because they take risks all over this thing.
