Bon Iver - 22, A Million I have no idea why this is getting so much press. I honestly can't stand this album. I think it's incredibly boring and has nothing interesting or worthwhile to offer. I could barely finish it. 2/10 only for some decent electronic production on a couple tracks

Bon Iver is awful. Their singer did a couple of songs with Colin Stetson on To See More Light and tarnished what could have been a perfect record (Brute was good though).

Banks - The Altar (2016) I really like a few of her tracks from the first album (I believe she released an EP or two as well) and I had no idea she was releasing an album this year. First tracks kicks off nicely.

Bon Iver - 22, A Million
As someone who wasn't a big fan of Bon Iver, Bon Iver I found this surprisingly good. I need more listens for sure, but on first listen I am pretty impressed. Danny Brown - Atrocity Exhibition I like everything he's done, and I have high hopes for this one. Slaughter Beach, Dog - Welcome As someone who generally prefers Jake's songs to Brandon's in Modern Baseball, this should be right up my alley.

Frente Cumbiero - Frente Cumbiero Meets Mad Professor (2011) Bogotá based Colombian Cumbia group Frente Cumbiero with Guyanese dub music producer and engineer Neil "Mad Professor" Fraser and several Bogotá-based artists such as Liliana Saumet (Bomba Estéreo), Javier Fonseca (Alerta Kamarada), Kiño (Kmusic) and Shaun Turner. Just one listen and I know this is a keeper and will be listened to many times over for many years to come! |
