Powerful fucking tunes on this thing. A bit of an underrated Nick Cave/Bad Seeds record and I'm not sure why. This shit has me standing at attention and I see it on some rotation in the coming weeks.

Rob Zombie - The Electric Warlock Acid Witch Satanic Orgy Celebration Disaster (2016)

Didn't know he released a new album.

I'm so surprised.

He's been going downhill for the last couple albums he's put out. And I like a few tracks on Venemous Rat, and Hellbilly Deluxe 2 was alright, but this album just screams 'sell out'. Disappointing. I was expecting something more, and he held back quite a bit. It's only 31 minutes long too, which seems extremely short.

You know, I like Rob Zombie's guitar riffs. But I can't stand his vocals. They sound just terrible. Like the new song off that album, "Everybody's ****ing in a ufo" has an amazing riff in it that just makes me want to bang my head. But then the vocals come in and it's like, "... really? That's the best you got?"

It really lacks in a lot more places than just the vocals. As an album, it doesn't flow. There's quite a bit of filler, and nothing too catchy with quite a few of the tracks as well. A lot of it feels way too radio friendly, and doesn't give me the gritty Rob Zombie feel that i've known to get from his music. It's certainly one of his worst albums. It's also way too short, but with 12 tracks, meaning none of the tracks extend past 3 minutes.

So, just a lackluster album all and all?

Yeah, it's really not that memorable or great, to be honest. I listened to it for review sake, but I'm left wanting so much more. It's disappointing.
