Fuzz - II (2015) Got the limited grey vinyl. Really liking the album so far. http://rymimg.com/lk/f/l/d4ab26546d0...02/5559826.jpg Froth - Bleak (2015) Female-fronted indie rock, if I remember correctly. Will need a few more passes for it to sink in. http://rymimg.com/lk/f/l/a1fde32ff8b...dd/5863835.jpg Frog Eyes - Pickpocket's Locket (2015) This was my first experience with Frog Eyes and I think it was pretty awful. http://rymimg.com/lk/f/l/cc2b74d8b5e...29/5640627.jpg Rats on Rafts - Tape Hiss (2015) I liked this Dutch garage/post-punk/neo-psych album on the first pass, the second felt a bit more muddy so maybe the third will tell. It's certainly interesting. http://rymimg.com/lk/f/l/fa26a9a6a26...ff/3949124.jpg Icarus Himself - Career Culture (2011) I guess I'd call this Wisconsin band's sound indie pop, on the low key end of the spectrum. http://rymimg.com/lk/f/l/25d6509a10a...ad/5813669.jpg Spray Paint - Dopers (2015) Second album this year from the Austin punk band, and the third I've heard. I've wanted to like each one a bit more than I have, but this one may actually match my desires. http://rymimg.com/lk/f/l/6059930eeb8...78/5428111.jpg Corners - Maxed Out on Distractions (2014) Post-punk out of LA. A bit on the new wave side at times, with some synths. |
I bought "Communion" of Years & Years months ago.
They are my favorite new band of this year. |

A great acoustic album from the late, great Elizabeth Cotten...

This has been one of my more anticipated days for music this year.

Oneohtrix Point Never "Garden of Delete" I've been waiting for this one for months. I've really been liking this a lot, "Animals" is one of my favorite OPN tunes melody wise, and "Mutant Standard" is pretty much one of his most complex and crazy. http://cdn3.pitchfork.com/albums/223...e.39ec38c2.jpg Rabit "Communion" Ever since I gave his EP "Baptizm" release I've been just wanting more of this. It's so disgusting and violent, combining dark ambient, industrial, and UK Grime into a thing of horror. If you were to throw TG, and 90's grime into a blender with body parts and black sludge, it would be this. http://www.clashmusic.com/sites/defa...?itok=K3BIanAw Clark "Flame Rave" Clark has been a bit hit or miss with me, his last two albums didn't really strike much of a chord, but the proceeding EPs did for some reason. His synth work is lush as **** for his more club-like tracks "To Live And Die In Grantham" are worth buying the entire EP. |
