Fred Frith & Evan Parker - Hello, I Must Be Going
Two of my absolute favourites on their respective instruments finally collaborated. So far it's as awesome as I imagined. I hope there'll be some nice parts with Parker's minimalistic, squeaky circular breathing thing.

Killing Joke - Pylon (2015) I'm enjoying this so far, but it's not Album of the Year material which is sad. It sounds like a Greatest Hits albums, but with all new material. While Absolute Dissent (2010) and MMXII (2012) both had distinct styles, Pylon really just feels like it's a retread of everything they've made since Extremities, Dirt, and Various Repressed Emotions (1990). Still, it's definitely their heaviest albums since Hosannas From the Basement of Hell and it's always nice to see a bunch of guys in their mid 50's rock harder than the bands they inspired. |

New Prozak album is awesome. Strange seeing how he went from being this really corny and generic horrorcore guy with Aftabirth then changing to become a much more introspective and politically/socially conscious artist. |

I was compiling this post on Friday, and wrote out a little blurb about each album as I often like to do. At one point, as I was getting closed to finish, I went to open a new tab to look up some information. But instead of hitting Control-T on my keyboard, I hit Control-R and the page reloaded - my labored post gone forever. I've since recovered emotionally, but I'm not going to spend the energy typing my thoughts again. So here are the albums I've listened to since my last post:
Dope Body - Lifer (2014) Deerhunter - Fading Frontier (2015) Alex Calder - Time (2013) Robert Logan - Flesh (2015) Title Fight - Hyperview (2015) Spectres - Dying (2015) Neil Young - Harvest (1972) I had never actually listened to this album all the way through until this weekend when my female companion decided to play the record Sunday morning.

Sturgill Simpson - Metamodern Sounds in Country Music I adore this album. Actually, his Live at Sun King Brewery is quite nice, if you get a chance to watch it. Last edited by Zhanteimi; 10-19-2015 at 09:08 PM. |
