Big Black - Atomizer (1986)
After Pitchfork re-posted an article about essential Albini works, I figured it was about time I set time aside for Big Black. I was looking at some of his history and read that he used a drum machine on this material. I really didn't expect Big Black to have such an industrial rock feel to it, though it's certainly noise/post-hardcore as well, but does go well with things like Pigface.

Naked Raygun - Jettison (1988)
I've had Naked Raygun in my queue for a while but just learned of the connection with Big Black. So, I pulled this out of my 1988 queue. Good first listen.

Dead Boys - Young Loud and Snotty (1977)
Pulled from my 1977 queue, as I was reminded of it in another thread. Not bad on first play, pretty standard late 70s punk.

The Stranglers - Stranglers IV (Rattus Norvegicus) (1977)
Another punk classic from my very long queue. As is often the case when listening to classics from long ago for the first time, it'll need repeat listens to absorb and judge. But first impressions were good. I thought I'd listened to a Stranglers album before but as it turns out this is my first.

Yvette - Time Management [EP] (2015)
Just learned about this one a few days ago and it came out today. I've listened to their 2013 LP Process a few times and liked it alright, a blend of noise rock, industrial rock, and post-punk. This seems along the same lines with a bit more electronic mixed it, giving it a dance-punk vibe at times. 4 tracks makes it very digestible.

Wavves - V (2015)
I really liked the last Wavves album, Afraid of Heights. It was a great blend of indie rock and surf rock/punk, pop punk even. After one listen to this one I'm left feeling like I listened to a somewhat generic pop punk album. Maybe it'll grow on me with repeat listens. After all this type of music is just meant to be fun, I just need its hooks to latch on properly. Maybe it's the vocals I didn't enjoy as much.

Girl Band - Holding Hands with Jamie (2015)
I checked out this Dublin post-punk/noise rock band's two EPs recently and found some good material amongst some more challenging material. This debut LP was released last week but I'm just listening to it now as we speak. I will never win against my backlog. Oh so how is it? Well quite interesting so far. Noisy, a bit no-wave as well. Not all that much post-punk after all to this point. It's a dirty, unnerving, yet groovy record.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

You're recommending gold. I'll be listening to more than half of these records.

So i saw lana del rey here, just want to say: love it.

However, i just bought "godspeed! you black emperor"'s
New album "asunder, sweet and other distress", and frankly, i'm disappointed. Mostly because the tracs don't remind me of the old GYBE. But hey, they tried

Um so I bought this at the record store for a dollar. It's every bit as amazing as youd expect. Its a hypnotist helping you get over smoking and eating. Cant recommend this enough.

On the non hilarious but still awesome side I also picked up:

Mary O'Hara's Ireland for a dollar
Inside (The Taj Mahal) by Paul Horn for a dollar
Rubycon by Tangerine Dream for not a dollar
Journey in Satchidananda by Alice Coltrane

Spent a little over $50 and im quite pleased.
