BADBADNOTGOOD & Ghostface Killah - Sour Soul Instrumentals (2015)

So I was not big on Sour Soul back when it came out and repeated listens really didn't win me over, so I'm just writing the album off as a dud. I can't say I was overly thrilled with the choice of MC as Ghostface has just never done it for me, but I'm always down for more BBNG. I also remember feeling like BBNG didn't really feel like they had much use, and they could have been replaced with a group of unknown studio musicians and nobody would have been the wiser. This feeling has become even more apparent with the instrumentals, however I can at least get some nice chill out/ reading music out of it. I know a lot of BBNG fans were disappointed with III (2014) for lacking the spark and energy of their previous two albums, but I found the mellow tone created some nice juxtaposition. This is just too mellow for my BBNG fix, but it still works as just another instrumental album I put on in the background.

^One of the best albums of all time as far as I'm concerned. The sheer level of brutality in the music is ****ing awesome. Like getting hit in the face with a thousand sledgehammers.

I think Cop is just as good tbh. It's just as ****ing brutal even if it's a little slower.

I love Cop as well. Filth is probably my favourite of theirs though.
