Paradise Lost - The Plague Within (2015) I've always loved this band and thought their 2012 album, Tragic Idol, was one of the under appreciated albums of that year. I really enjoy Nick Holmes as a vocalist, but I thought he wasn't a perfect fit for Bloodbath last year and it really brought down what was an riff-tastic album. It seems the slower, less abrasive sound and epic scope of Paradise Lost is a better fit for him because he rocks this album. Thick distortion, slow and deliberate riffs, and just an overall sense of power really make this album a worthy followup to Tragic Idol. |

Been going to Thrift Stores recently - somehow the atmosphere in Entertainment Stores is not too exciting for me anymore and there's no Indie place around my area, so it's digging through the classics left behind in need of a good home.
Van Morrison - Moondance - A slight scratch on the disc, but still played. Good sounds! Smithereens - 11 - A great memory of the last year of the 80's. Things were going dark, but this kept me in check. |

Smithereens wrote some great pop/rock songs. Use to love when they'd pop up on MTV.
Listening to Strapping Young Lads - City. This borders on too intense for me but there's something about it that makes it work. Damn though, if I ever decide to go out on a murderous rampage this will be playing through my earbuds.
